Urology has many sub-speciality areas (eg: benign and cancerous conditions, robotic surgery, urogynaecology, infertility, paediatric urology, urinary incontinence, reconstructive urology, sexual health, neuro-urology, etc) and no single urologist covers everything. This can make it difficult for GPs to appropriately refer patients as they rarely know which urologists in their area specialise in what, and patients are sometimes referred to inappropriately specialists. At The Urology Practice, we seek to overcome this.
Our team of highly skilled urologists, specialist urology nurses, and experienced administrative staff provide a first class service to all of our patients. We work closely together with medical oncology and radiation oncology colleagues, as well as other medical sub-specialists, allied health professionals and nurse specialists, to deliver patient-centred, holistic and multidisciplinary care of the highest quality.
The practice offers a full complement of urological cancer treatment options including laparoscopic and robotic minimally invasive surgery, as well as open surgery when required. We also offer cyrotherapy, brachytherapy, radiation and chemotherapy.
No two cancer cases are the same, and accordingly, patients are fully advised of treatment options available to them and those considered most appropriate to their specific diagnosis.
Throughout our treatment programme, patients are supported by specially trained urology nurses who explain to patients what to expect at each stage, and provide pre-and-post operative care.
